things i've been considering (7/8/2023)

i’ve thought that dreams were things only

found in the dark /

After eyes closed

after candles burned

after storms brewed

after floods ate

after breaths choked

after doors closed.

only the richest had /

rich of power

rich of blood

rich of mind

they had gold in their veins and their pockets

i had Lead in mine.
